He was predeceased by: his parents, George Vernon and Effie Vernon (Young); and his siblings, Waymon Vernon, Virgil Vernon and Hazel Farmer.
He is survived by: his sister Sherry Headden; his sons, Larry (Beverly), Steve and David; his grandchildren, Dustin (Amanda), Ashley Vernon-Meeks (Ben), Philip, Matthew (Sable), Cathryn, Clare and Dominic; and his great grandchildren, GraceAnna, Caelan and Cecilia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
