He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Coers and Marian Coers (Lapicola); and his brother-in-law Hank Plahn III. He is survived by: his sister Janet Plahn of Vincennes; his nieces, Kathryn Plahn and Elizabeth "Izzy" Plahn; and his nephew Matthew Plahn.
