He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Cornett and Lillie Cornett (Gay); his brothers, Claby and Irvin Cornett; and his grandson Jason Cornett.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Cornett (Shopher); his children, Kermit Cornett Jr. of Medora, Johnny Cornett of Salem, Jeff Cornett of Brownstown and Toby Jo Peacock of Austin; and his brothers, Wilson and Clyde Cornett of Salem. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
