He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Holmgren and Ocie Holmgren (Clark); and his sister Faye Meier. He is survived by: his wife Judy Knope; his children, Stacey Hanson (Joe) of Indianapolis, Corbin Holmgren (Becky) of LaCrosse and Regan Espinosa (Hector) of Windsor, CO; his grandchildren, Paige, Nicholas, Jonathon Hanson, Collin, Cody Holmgren, Traise, Tristan and Neeva Espinosa; his brothers, Ray Holmgren (Penny) and Denny Holmgren (Janice); and his brother-in-law Jack Meier.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
