He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy L. Hardwick and Zona E. Hardwick (Thompson); his wife Virginia Hardwick (Collier); his siblings, John Hershel Hardwick, Eva Mae Hardwick and Ella Vaught; and his grandson Paul Brewster.

He is survived by: his children, Mike, Larry, Steve Hardwick, Sandra Sisk (Richard), Pam Monroe and Lisa Meredith; and his grandchildren, Brittany Monroe, Zona Collins (Chris), Shelby Peters (Ryan), Zara Meredith, Jeremy Hardwick (Betty), Cole Sisk (Katie) and Tara Sisk (Max Nutter). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
