He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nora Belle (Akers) and Charles Burris; his close friend Judy Pruett; his children, Stephen Burris (Lorraine) of Terre Haute, Michael Burris of Marengo, David Burris (Rachel) of Sellersburg, Christopher Burris of Washington, Philip Burris of Washington and Mary Beth Streete (Ronald) of Washington; his siblings, Randy Burris (Sandy) of Washington, Glenn Burris of Washington, Doris Loyd of Washington, Joseph Burris of Daytona Beach, Florida, Carolyn Sue Brooks of Fountain City, Sharon Garabrant (Gary) of Brownsburg, Norma Mercker of Dublin, Ohio., Harold Burris, Ray Burris, James L. Burris, Charles "Junior" Burris and Gilbert Burris; and his daughter-in-law Peggy Burris (Michael Burris). He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
