It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ricky D. Baisden (Warsaw, Indiana), born in Goshen, Indiana, who passed away on December 30, 2019, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his stepparents, Bill Hoene and Linda Baisden. He is survived by: his parents, Mose Baisden and Nelva D. "Nellie" Baisden (Rickman); his siblings, Sharon Burgett (Dave Lesser) of Chelsea, MI, Deb Garman (Bud) of Pierceton, Melissa Lesser (Tom) of Dexter, MI, Sarah Stern (Steve), William Baisden (Teresa) of Warsaw and Tom Baisden (Michelle) of Grass Lake, MI.; and his stepsisters, Jennifer Sawyer (James) of Michigan City, IN and Amy Hoene of Indianapolis.

Preferred memorials may be given to the St. Jude Children's research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

“Rick was a very dear friend of ours, and we are going to miss his twice yearly visits to us in Ann Arbor, MI. Despite his diving accident in his teens, leaving hima quadriplegic, Rick went on to earn a Bachelors and then a Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. For at least a decade, he worked as a counselor for Center for Independent Living, helping other newly disabled individuals deal with all of the emotional and physical ramifications of becoming injured. He was incredible.”
