He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Long and Mary Ellen Long (Plummer); his wife Carol Maggart; his children, Rex and Lesa Newsome (Cliff) of Mentone; his stepdaughters, Kimberly Long of Indianapolis, Jessica Marshall (Tracy) of Warsaw and Katharine Nixon of Warsaw; his grandchildren, Michele Isgett, Trenton Newsome of Cody, RJ, Mark, Jerica Long, Hannah Schultz and James Leiter; his brother Rick Long (Anne) of South Bend; and his grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Newsome.
