He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Mae McNeal (Dekle) and John McNeal; and his siblings, Maybell Brazel, Velouria Holloway, Samuel, Joe and Howard McNeal.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Alice McNeal; his children, Sara Strahan Lenfestey, Leta McNeal and Joshua McNeal, Jr.; his grandson Robert (Whitney); and his great grandchildren, Jaxon Jeffery Strahan and Alaya Ann Marie Strahan.
