He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Simpson and Helen Bryant (Lipscomb); and his siblings, Tommy, Ricky Simpson, Dennis Bryant and Sharon McClain.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ullery; his daughters, Melissa Marie Simpson of Warsaw, Joni Maranda Zook (Mark "Hollywood") of Claypool, Tiffany Heather Lyon and Emily Alyse Wysong; his siblings, Peggy Hachmann, Timothy Bryant and Sally Burton; and his nieces and nephews, Andrea Blevins (Tobby), Carolyn Wilkinson (Steffen), Doug Colvin (Penny), John Colvin (Lindsey), Nikki Soules (Darren), Earlene Gibbons (Kevin), Warren White (Shannon) and Jimmy White.
