He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shrieve and Kathryn Shrieve; and his brother James Shrieve. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Shrieve (Petro); his grandchildren, Walt, Georgia, Matthew, Addison and Liz (Anthony); his great grandchildren, Esther, Eden and Evelynn; his brother Jeff Shrieve (Shelly); his uncle Harry "Butch" Shrieve; his nephew Doug Shrieve; his pet Lucy; and also, Brian (Brooke) and Rob (Jessie).
