He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnet Crist (Bassett) and Roy Crist; his foster parents, Charles Vanator and Mabel Vanator; and his daughter Barbara Jean Crist.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Crist (Martinez); his daughters, Kelly Boley (Tony) and Mechelle Trent (Doug); and his stepchildren, George Wiegand, Jr. (Julie), Missy Albright (Jeff), Celeste Richards (Brad) and Bridget Nicodemus (Jay). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
