He was predeceased by: his mother Nancy Melton (Biddle). He is survived by: his children, Zach Frantz of New York, Dana Heath of Virginia, Ashley Shepherd of Warsaw, Nikole McCarthy (Ryan) of South Bend, Britny Melton of Mishawaka and Kyleigh Melton of Mishawaka; his brother Nick Melton (Amy) of Warsaw; his father David Melton, Sr. of Warsaw; and his nephews, Griffin and Brenden Melton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
