He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smeltzer and Mary Smeltzer (Yoder); and his siblings, Glen, David, Dale Smeltzer, Viola Smeltzer and Ruth Newcomer.
He is survived by: his sons, Dean Smeltzer (Suzy) of Winona Lake and Allen Smeltzer (Debra) of LaGrange; his sister Melba Williams of Goshen; and his sister-in-law Judy Smeltzer (Lois Yoder) of Wakarusa. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
