He was predeceased by: his father Harold Raymond Shepler; and his brother Gilbert Lavern Morts. He is survived by: his mother Bettylee Shepler (Forrester); his children, Branden Shepler, Bryan Shepler, Brooke Shepler and Brittney Simons (Heath); and his sister Elnora Jane Shepler (Indiana). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
