It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Melvin Akers (Warren, Indiana), born in Lafayette, Indiana, who passed away on February 2, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Akers and Floy Akers (Blind); and his sisters, Esther Benson (John) and Wanda Stewart (Don). He is survived by: his wife Marlyn Jean "Jeanne" Robbins; his children, Robin E. Akers of Forest Park, IL and Dwain R. Akers (Diana) of Otterbein, IN; his grandchildren, Chelsea R. Fulkerson (Joel) of Attica, IN, Hannah L. Akers of Indianapolis, IN and Morgan A. Ruemler (Brandon) of Attica, IN; and his great grandchildren, Kade Fulkerson, Jase Fulkerson, Brecken Fulkerson and Ruemler. He is also survived by 3 nephews and 2 nieces; and several great-nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pine Village United Methodist Church or the Warren County Community Foundation Robert and Jeanne Akers Designated Fund.
