He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles A. Hensley and Juanita M. Hensley (DeBord); his grandson Kyle Hensley; and his sister Janet Folk. He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Bogdan; and his sons, James R. and Charles W. Hensley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
