He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Kirts and Leona Grace Kirts (Milligan); his spouse Idell "Peggy" Cleveland; and his son Michael Wayne Kirts. He is survived by: his children, Richard "Rick" D. Kirts, Jr., Linda Story, Pat Ponder (Bob), Nancy Manning (Ron), Judie Tanner (Mark) and Jeannie Kirts. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
