He was predeceased by: his father John Brooks Jr.; his sister Nina Brooks; and his close friend Lee Dilts. He is survived by: his mother Hazel Ruth Brooks Jr. (Poulson) of Warren; his daughter Cylest Brooks (Brian Culp) of Milwaukee Wisconsin; his brothers, Jeff Brooks and Jerry Brooks (Diane); and his grandchildren, Nadine and Edwin John. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many extended family.
