He is survived by: his son Shawn Schmal of Rochester; his stepdaughters, Jacqueline Sutton (Eddie) of Georgia and Cassandra Green (Jimmy) of Ohio; his granddaughter Morgan Schmal of Rochester; his stepgrandchildren, Joshua, Eric, Haley, James Green of Ohio, Myranda, Aaron and Chase Sutton; and his siblings, Cathy Verbeek (Gordon), David Schmal and Scott Schmal (Debbie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
