He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Virgil Werner and Eleanor Werner (Rosenau); his wife Linda Hough; his son Roger Werner of Wanatah; his siblings, Joann Knapp of Wanatah and Scott Small of Knox; and his brother-in-law Rodger Knapp.
