It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Smoker of Wanatah, Indiana, born in Bunker Hill, Indiana, who passed away on January 15, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alva Buckalew and Opal Buckalew (Childers); and her siblings, Mary Davidson, Wilma Fultz, Clifford, Weldon, Donald and Herrell Buckalew.
She is survived by: her husband James Smoker; her children, Rita Shireman (Todd) of Wanatah, Greg Smoker (Debora) of Wanatah, Susan Carpenter (Scott) of Cassopolis, MI and Jeff Smoker (Angela) of Wanatah; her sister Marjorie Arndt of LaCrosse; her grandchildren, Clinton, Nathan, Jacob, Matthew, Joseph, Melissa, Morgan, Mitchell, Madison, Sarah and Trenton; and her great grandchildren, Millicent, Raelyn, Natalie, Catherine, Sadie, Elijah, Stella and Brody.
Memorial donations may be made to Salem United Church of Christ organ fund or audio/visual fund.
