He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Jones and Sally Carrie Jones (Brown); his wife Sara E. Gipson; his daughter Marsha Mathews; his sons-in-law, T. J. Sizemore, James Smith and Nick Papalambros; his grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Matthew; and his great grandchildren, Gracin and Liam.
He is survived by: his children, Glenda Sizemore, Chyral Smith, Rita McKinney (Terry), Dwayne Mathews (Lousia), Tammy Smiley, Michael Mathews (Nita), JoEllen Marcinek (Chris) and DeEllen Shope (Michael). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
