He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Hansen and Anna Hansen; his wife Margaret Bowen; his brother Ted Hansen; his brother-in-law Don Graden; and his daughter-in-law Desi Hansen.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Hansen (Bill Oberg) of Ft. Wayne, Patricia Eckel (Ken) of Minnesota, George Hansen Jr. of Valparaiso, Bob Hansen (Kathy) of Wisconsin and Chris Klefeker (Alex) of Ft. Wayne; his siblings, Mary Ann Graden and Jack Hansen (Kathy); his grandchildren, Kate, Brad, Alexis, Courtney and Ian; his great grandchildren, June, Adelaide, Colin, Esme, Margaret, Albert, George, Louis, Marley and Bo; and also, Marge Hansen and Sandy Weber.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wanatah Funeral Chapel (309 N Main St, Wanatah, IN 46390). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (204 N Ohio St, Wanatah, IN 46390). A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Calumet Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Sacred Heart Church.
