Rose Charlotte Alsman Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 25, 2018 we had to say goodbye to Rose Charlotte Alsman (Walton, Indiana). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

The daughter of Derian Laine Dalton and Alexander David Alsman, of Walton, she was born at 4:50 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, weighing just 1 pound, 6 ounces and measuring 13" long.

Rose had the heart of a fighter and fought so bravely to live. She was tiny but feisty. And just as quickly as she came into this world, she left too soon at 4:49 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018 in the NICU at St. Vincent Women's Hospital in Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, Rose was loved by a large family including her maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Talee and Nate Hardin; her maternal grandfather, Brian Dalton; her paternal grandparents, Jonmark and Michele Alsman; her maternal great-grandparents: Terri & Tim Russell, Chuck & Kelly Stephenson, and Georgetta Dalton; her paternal great-grandparents: Larry and Jeri Lynn Alsman, John Smallfelt and Carol Smallfelt; her aunts and uncles: Jackson Dalton, Nia Maroney, Matthew Alsman, Kaitlyn Alsman, Adam Swearingen, Emily Alsman; Emma Hardin, and Decker Hardin; cousin, Lillian Swearingen: and several extended family members.

Rose Charlotte was welcomed to her heavenly home by her brother, Hudson James , great-aunt, Tara Hildebrand, and great-grandfather, James Dalton. A memorial service celebrating Rose Charlotte's life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, 1801 Chase Road, Logansport. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral chapel.

Her family thanks you for your prayers and many kindnesses during this difficult time. Everyone wants to know, "What can I do?" You have all been so very gracious. Here are some ideas: Tokens of sympathy, such as flowers and gifts are appreciated as they are beautiful reminders that you care and share in their sorrow. Another suggestion is making a donation to the "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" organization in Rose Charlotte's memory in order to support their mission to provide comfort and memories for years to come to other grieving parents through their remembrance photography.

Since Fisher Funeral Chapel provides infant funeral services at no cost to the family, that is not a concern, but those wanting to do more and help lighten the couple's medical expense/deductible obligation, donations may be made via this page by clicking the "Donate Now" link. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral chapel on Saturday.

Baby Rose has touched all of our lives. One of the most important things you can do is to cherish one another and let the brevity of Rose's life remind you to never take anyone or anything for granted. You might consider planting a rose bush in your own garden this Spring to keep her memory alive. If you do, share that with her family - for to hear the beautiful music of their daughter's name and know that she made a difference in your life is truly a gift in and of itself.
