She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis "Bud" McKinley and Lela McKinley (Mendenhall); her husband Charley A. Smelser Jr.; and her son Charley Alan. She is survived by: her sons, Ernie (Nancy Smelser) of Flora and Daniel Smelser of Galveston; her grandchildren, Amanda Verdusco, Samantha Scott (Shawn), Kayla Smelser and Michael Smelser; and her great grandchildren, Cora and Colton Scott.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
