He is survived by: his wife Carol Burkhart; his children, James Burkhart (Mary Rudolphi) of Westville, IN, Douglas McDaniel of Glenwood, MN, Carla Stall (Scott) of Brainerd, MN, Pam Bushman (Russ) of Montrose, MN and Brenda Britton (Bruce) of La Porte; his grandchildren, Logan, Ben, Jamie, Madison Stall, Jesse, Hailee Bushman, Chayton and James R Burkhart; and his great grandchild Myla Gilderman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John McDaniel to support the hematology and oncology research at the University of Chicago Medicine.
