Jewel left this world on January 26, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cleve Parks and Sarah Parks (Sweeney); her son David L. Platz; and her daughter-in-law Dona Platz. She is survived by: her husband Russell E. Platz; her children, Patricia Koch of Walkerton, Shelly Platz (Craig) of Walkerton and Gail Platz of Walkerton; her grandchildren, Heather, Le Anne, Chad and Mitch; her great grandchildren, Gabriel, Lexia, Carson, Payton, Brantly and Ben; her great great grandchild Atalie; and her sister Mary Jo Golubski of Walkerton.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (512 Georgia St, Walkerton, IN 46574). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jewel's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
