He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Harness and Vera B. Harness (Stutsman); his daughter Marilyn Jae; and his siblings, Betty Wilhelm, Harry and Marion (Cy).

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Rosander; and his daughter Janice Harness Hughes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Oregon-Davis Scholarship Fund.
