He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schantz and Marilyn Schantz (Webster); his stepfather Marion; his in-laws, Richard and Audrey Meal; and his aunt Josephine Webster.
He is survived by: his children, Meghan Schantz of Shelbyville and Daniel Schantz of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Alexa of Shelbyville, Kylynne of Shelbyville and Logann Schantz of Shelbyville; and his friend Steve Mathies.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Waldron Fire Department; St. Paul Fire Department; or the Waldron Baptist Church.
