He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl R. Monroe and Mary E. Monroe (Milles); and his wife Ruth Ann Monroe (Brown). He is survived by : his adoptive sons, Mark Monroe (Donna) of Morgantown and David Monroe of Indianapolis; and his sister Elizabeth Monroe of Shelbyville. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
