He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Mikel and Florence Mikel (Hawkins); his wife Dora Marie Mikel (Holmes); his siblings, Bemis Mikel Sr., Joy VanDeKeere (Frank), Mary Mikel, Ruth Mikel, Wilma Hepler (Jim) and Ruby Unsicker (Bob); and his brother-in-law Art Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Jacobs (Jeffrey), James Mikel (Tina) and Steve Mikel (Sandy); and his siblings, Charles Mikel of Arkansas, William Mikel of Florida, George Mikel of Bremen, Virginia Smith of Elkhart, Carolyn Rutherford (Marvin) of Bristol, TN and Erma Jackson of Elkhart. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way, 4 great-great-grandchildren.
