He was predeceased by: his parents, Clemens Schmitt and Malinda Schmitt (Tenbarge); and his brother-in-law Charles Straub. He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Straub, Donna Schmitt (Larry Carpenter) and Anthony "Tony" Schmitt (Ruth); his nieces, Linda Schaffer (Scott), Debbie Parnas (Jeff) and Cheryl Morarend (Quinn); his nephew Mark Schmitt (Amanda); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jourdan, Taylor Schaffer, Lily Morarend, Kenzie Schmitt, Jack Parnas and Drew Morarend.
