He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick "Fred" and Geraldine "Gerry" Hayes (Koch). He is survived by: his wife Kimberly "Kim" Hayes (Farney); his daughters, Christina "Tina" Ward (Colin) and Susan Hayes (Zack); his granddaughter Juniper Ward; and his sister Jacqueline "Jackie" Richardson (Lee). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
