He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas B. Sr. and Arley M. Howard (Freed); and his siblings, Thomas B. "Bud" Howard, Jr., Alice Koch and Mary Oswalt.

He is survived by: his wife Betty S. Howard of Wabash; and his daughter Julie A. Howard of Commerce Township.
