He is survived by: his granddaughter Brynlee Ray; his wife Cyndi Sams of Wabash; his children, Christian Michael Sams (Beverly) of Lafayette and Kayla Larissa Sams of Wabash; his granddaughter Brynlee Ray Sams of Lafayette; his brother Dallas Michael Sams (Brenda) of Lagro; his nieces and nephews, Ashli Walker (Smitte), Andru Sams (Kayla), Scott Pearson, Aaron Creech (Shaina) and Bethanie Martin; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Qorlana Walker, Cyncere Walker, Bentley Martin, Lincoln Martin, Jareth Lancaster and Paislee Shepherd; and his close friends, Phil Smith, Aaron Hall, Morgan Ritter and Rich Baele (Shannon).
