He was predeceased by: his parents, Rueben Garlits and Helen Garlits (Bunner); and his brothers, Bill and Kevin Garlits. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Patterson; his sons, Robert Garlits of Wabash and James Garlits (Tawnya) of Wabash; his brother Robert Garlits (Lenna) of Waverly, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Aaron Garlits (Britni), Sierra Garlits, Megan Garlits, Steven Garlits and Jacob Garlits.
