She was predeceased by: her father Hubert Hammonds; and her brother William Hammonds. She is survived by: her mother Gladys Hammonds (Rutherford) of Evansville; her husband David A. Van Meter of Wabash; and her siblings, Robert Hammonds (Karen) of Evansville, Brenda Mounts (Allen) of Newburgh and Mary Ruth Nelson (Michael) of Evansville. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, and 32 great nieces and nephews.
