He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marshall, Sr. and Jean D. Brainard (Brown); and his former wife Linda Brainard. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Brainard of Wabash; his sons, Jay R. Brainard (Kendra) of Wabash, Kevin Brainard (Stephenie) of Wabash and Cory Brainard (Maia) of Wabash; his grandchildren, Zachary Brainard, Joshua Brainard (Kelsey), Jared McDonald (Rachel), Lindsey Murphy (William), Dyson Brainard (Emily), Emma Brainard, Gavin Brainard, Claire Brainard, Avry Napier, Emma Napier, Graci Napier and Cohen Brainard; his great grandchild Emmett Brainard; and his siblings, Michael Brainard (Ma'Fe) of Wabash, Anne Eckley (Verne) of Arkansas, Bill Brainard (Kathy) of Ohio and Tom Brainard (Sue) of Wabash.
