He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Kilander and Effie Mae Kilander (Lee); his son Craig E. Dowling; and his siblings, George Kilander, Michael Kilander and Brenda Zumbaugh.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Beth Kilander of Wabash; his children, Carina Travis of Warsaw and Scott Kilander of Warsaw; his daughter-in-law Traci Corey (Kevin) of Marion, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jonathan Saunders (Lacy) of Warsaw, Brian Saunders of Fort Wayne, Quinton Dowling (Tyler) of Marion and Alivia Corey of Marion; his great grandchildren, Owen Saunders, Liam Saunders, Carter Dowling and Waymon Saunders; and his sisters-in-law, Blanche Kilander of South Whitley and Doris Burwell of Franton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preferred memorials are the Disabled American Veterans or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
