He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Riley; his children, Brad Riley (Carey), Beth Novinger (Ed) and Phil Riley (Katie); his stepchildren, Susan Lambert and Beverly Adams; his grandchildren, Chad Novinger (Emily), Vince Novinger (Jackle), Grant Riley (Amanda), Blane Riley (Paige) and Blake Riley; his stepgrandchildren, Heidi Ramsey, Greg Lambert (Jamie), Chad Lambert (Emily) and Stephanie Smith (Chad); his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Riley, Taylor, Hudson, Hank Novinger, Reed and Liv Riley; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Maddi, Kate, Cole, Gavin, Sydney, Saige Lambert and Shelby Ramsey; his great great grandchild Jayna Ramsey; and his sister June Ann King (Roy).

“I’m so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing! We were the best of friends from first grade through graduation except for our 7th and 8th grades. We were guards together on Eastern’s 1956 Sectional Championship team that upset #1 Kokomo! The ride back into Greentown on the firetruck that night was unforgettable! I’m sure all of his family realizes how great a man Jim was and I could not of had a better friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us!! Jerry V Smith, Professor Emeritus, Purdue University”
