He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Sr. Dayton and Margaret Irene Dayton (Knotts); and his nieces and nephews, Mallori Kastner, Duranda Anderson, J. D. Dayton and Adrian Anderson.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jennifer Dayton, Rick Dayton and James "Bob" Dayton; and his nieces, Christina Anderson of Wabash, Renae Harrison of Wabash and Shelly Baucco (Andrew) of Wabash.
