He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Truss; his sons, Sherman Truss (Lorraine) of Wabash, Steven Truss of Wabash and Samuel Truss (Sherry) of Wabash; his grandchildren, Lindsay Swihart, John Thomma, Samuel "Joseph" Truss (Melissa) and Seth Truss; his great grandchildren, Matthew Thomma (Emma) of Muncie, Robert Thomma of Muncie, Brinlei Swihart of Wabash, Breslyn Swihart of Wabash, MaKenna Truss of Wabash and Everlei Truss of Wabash; his sisters, Patricia Keppel and Ruthann Gardner; his nephews, Dennis Keppel (Susan) and Daniel Keppel (Rolanda); and his niece Tammi Gardner-Venable (John).

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the College Corner Brethren Church (8996 S 500 W, Wabash, IN 46992). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery (W 850 S, Waltz Township, IN 46992).
