He is survived by: his spouse Sarah Walker; his children, Kathy Meints of Wabash, Kris Stebbins (John) of Carmel, Randy Shafer (Laurie) of Wabash, Steve Shafer (Donna) of Cropwell and Tim Shafer (Tammy) of Wabash; and his brother Lorn Shafer (Perlein) of Amboy. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
