He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur C. "Toddy" and Nada M. Dawes (Shultz); his wife Janice; and his brother Darle. He is survived by: his sons, Dan Dawes (Angel) of Noblesville, Doug Dawes (Lore) of Columbus and Ken Dawes (Lisa) of Carmel, Indiana; his grandchildren, Emily Dawes of London, Nick Dawes of St. Louis, Alexandra Gray (Spencer) of Indianapolis, Kristen Weisshaar (Mike) of Lexington, Connor Dawes of San Diego, Madison Dawes of Indianapolis, Brandon Dawes of San Diego and Avery Dawes of Carmel, Indiana; his great grandchildren, Isla of Indianapolis, Indiana and Rooney Gray of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sister-in-law Helen Dawes of Urbana, Indiana; and his brothers, Wendel Dawes (Janene) of Urbana, Wayne Dawes (Judy) and Fort Wayne.
