He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Dona (Martin) and Elmes Hilton Spivey; his wife Wanda Gail Spivey (Richards); and his siblings, Marjorie Hopkins, Elsie Russell, Delcia Bagwell, Jenna Allen, James Spivey, Merlin Spivey and Richard Spivey.
He is survived by: his children, Virlin Edward Spivey Jr. (Tricia) of Washington, D. C., Gail Veale (John) of Darlington, SC and Richard Spivey (Nanette) of Florence, SC.; and his sister Patricia Hooker. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
