He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis "Lefty" Thomas and Irene Thomas (Madison); his wife Betty Breedlove; and his brothers, David and Tommy Joe Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald E. Thomas, Jr. (Carol) of Sarasota, FL, Tracey Nowaskie (Steve) of Vincennes and Amy Stone (Bill) of Cloverdale, IN; his siblings, Vic Thomas of Shoals, IN, Frank Thomas of Goodletsville, TN, Jan Thomas of Wheatland, IN and Jenny Jackson of Monroe City, IN; his grandchildren, Jeremy Eisenhut, Brooke Owens, Bryce Nowaskie (Marypat), Cody Thomas (Stephanie) and Brandt Nowaskie (Natalie); and his great grandchild Cecelia Jane Nowaskie (CeCe).
The Thomas family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Vincennes Lincoln Athletic Booster Club.
