He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Melsheimer and Bethel Melsheimer (Kail); and his sisters, Linda Greene and Nina LaMar. He is survived by: his wife Rita Melsheimer (Stites); his children, Jeff Melsheimer (Debra) of Bloomington, Tracy Melsheimer of New Orleans and Melissa Dreiman of Vincennes; his brothers, Ivan Melsheimer of Texas and Melvin Melsheimer (Joan) of Tennyson, Indiana; his grandchildren, Nicholas Melsheimer (Laura), Whitney Dreiman and Bailey Dreiman; his great grandchildren, Tessa Rupprecht, Nicholas, Hannah Melsheimer and Leia Clark; his nieces, Melanie, Jeannine, Mary Ann, Iva and Lori; and his nephew Tim.
Memorial donations may be made to the Indiana Military Museum and Vincennes Free Methodist Church.
