He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Mathis, Jr. and Marilyn Marie Mathis (Albright). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jo Berger; his daughter Laura Burdick (Justin); his granddaughters, Ruth and Sarah; his daughter Kathryn Killion (David); his grandchildren, Anna, Joseph and Caroline; and his sister Connie Patchett (Charlie).
