He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Murphy and Violet Murphy (Newman); his wife Linda Louise Murphy (Hamm); his children, Michael Anthony Murphy, Randall Steven Murphy and Kathy Jenene Adams (Murphy); and his siblings, Henry Maurice Murphy, Anna Jane Twitty (Murphy), Violet Delia Murphy, Jewel Newman Murphy, Mildred Ruth Murphy and Marie Francis Deppe (Murphy).
He is survived by: his daughter Terri Lynn Louise Medock (Larry); and his brother Louis Alvin Murphy. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
